Honeybush tea is made as a simple herbal infusion. Its lack of caffeine makes it especially suited for nighttime consumption and for those who experience nervousness and want to avoid ordinary tea.
To appreciate the delicate sweet taste and flavor, no milk or sugar should be added. Adding a small amount of honey to the tea will bring out the honey-like flavor of the herb. Also its great when served cold and blends very well with fruit juices.
Brewing Instructions: : 2 tsp, 7-10 minutes, 100°-80° Celsius
Did you know... It is claimed that honeybush helps in regulating menstrual cycles, preventing prostate, breast and uterine cancers, reduces the risk of osteoporosis and has anti-viral, anti-fungal, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties.
Furthermore, it is claimed that it helps in reducing cholesterol levels, treating symptoms of depression, supporting anti-diabetic activity, works as a diuretic, and is helpful for diarrhea.
Preparation:
Use one teaspoon per cup of boiling water and infuse anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. Honeybush has a tendency to get sweeter the longer it is infused.
