A flavorful 2nd flush Darjeeling with a well balanced character from the famous tea garden in Darjeeling, India. "Margaret's Hope" Tea garden was named in memory of the owner Mr. Cruikshank's daughter Margaret who was enchanted by the tea garden. Upon sailing to England she promised to return to the tea garden but never did as a result of a fatal illness. Hence her father named the garden Margaret's Hope in her memory.
Brewing Instructions: : 1 tsp, 2-3 min, 100 °C
Did you know... Tea planting in the Indian district of Darjeeling was begun during 1841 by a Dr. Campbell, a civil surgeon of the Indian Medical Service, who had been transferred to that area during 1839: he used seeds from China. Experimental tea plantation by himself and others occurred during the 1840s and the government established tea nurseries during that period. Commercial exploitation began during the 1850s.
